Motor Sport: Jones vs Williams

Great motor sport rivals: Hill vs Schumacher; Prost vs Senna; and now, Jones
vs Williams! (That's our Gareth against everybody's Robbie).
Both took to the track for the Johnny Herbert Kart Challenge, a charity event pitting celebrities, pro drivers and amateurs against each other to raise money for The National Kidney Research Fund.
Gareth has taken part in Johnny Herbert's annual shindig for the past few years. This year he once again drove alongside real race mechanics from his favourite F1 team, Jordan. As for Robbie, he created his own team - Williams. (Hmmm, has a familiar ring!)
There was only friendship, and no real rivalry between the pair. However, Jones did have some trouble with Robbie's
team-mate - actual F1 driver, Jenson Button.
"Entering a hairpin, I felt my kart being nudged from behind. Then, just as I started the exit, I found myself being walloped against the barriers. When I clocked my aggressor, I was amazed. I guess I should take it as a compliment that the only way F1 star Jenson Button could get past me was by brute force!"
After the race, Jones discovered that although his pride was intact, he had bruised a couple of ribs.
"I was in real pain for a week after, but it only hurt when I sneezed, coughed, or breathed in, or out. Yeah, in other words all the time!"
This year's Johnny Herbert Kart Challenge raised £20,000 for The National Kidney Research Fund, and
a hot bath for Gareth and his poor ribs.
