Gareth Presents New Network Show

Gareth has joined the presenting team on ITV1’s motor sports magazine show, Speed Sunday.
 
“Anyone who knows me knows I love cars and have been obsessed with motor sport since I can remember” enthused Gareth, “ So it’s great to be at the heart of the action, rubbing shoulders with the engineers and drivers of the most incredible vehicles in the world.
 
Some of these drivers are fellow presenters Vikki Butler Henderson and Jason Plato, so the producers had to be absolutely convinced that Gareth thoroughly knew his stuff before signing him up:
 
“It all started when I took a TV camera to this year’s Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance Race” he explained, “Basically, I shot a report, and put it together myself. Then, I showed it to the Speed Sunday producers and they loved it so much, they decided to run it on the following week’s show, asked me to appear live in studio, and immediately offered me more work”.

This ‘work’, if you can call it that, has so far included tearing round the Welsh countryside with World Rally Champion, Petter Solberg, as well as jetting off to the Michelin factory in France to discover the secrets of F1 tyre technology.
 
This weekend you’ll notice a change of format. Instead of sitting in a studio, each week the team present the show from a motor racing event around the country, starting with Silverstone, where Gareth promises us he aims to use his new position as presenter to blag his way onto the podium.
 
So, watch Speed Sunday on ITV1 at 2:10pm Sunday August 22nd. The series continues to run for a couple of months, so check the listings for future shows.
