Gareth Galvanises The Young Engineers

Young Engineers; join today!

In July, Gareth was chuffed to be asked to appear as Guest–of-Honour at the Young Engineers Annual Celebration of Engineering Awards Dinner at the Old Royal Naval College Greenwich London.

As a former presenter of both Tomorrow’s World on BBC1 and The Big Bang on ITV1, Gareth had a lot in common with the President of the Young Engineers… it was none other than his old colleague — another ex-presenter of both shows, Kate Bellingham.

Gareth’s Guest of Honour status took him on a tour of the hottest entries in the Young Engineers competition, where youngsters from 9 to 19, from all over the UK, as far north as the Shetland Isles, show off their innovative thinking.

Later on, he received a rapturous reception at the awards dinner, as he handed out prizes and spoke on stage about his own childhood passion for engineering.

Gareth got the entire room to participate in a fun “HOW?” experiment from his show How2 on ITV1, and explained HOW it was his love of aircraft and motor technology that ultimately got him on TV, and keeps him there. So, now you know HOW2 do it!

Gareth had a smashing time, and would like to thank everybody present for their warm welcome and enthusiasm.
