Gareth Leads Top Comedians In A New
Direction
Gareth has lured a number of comedy
stars in front of his lens, for the fourth series of GamePad, the series
directed by Gareth, and presented/produced by his partner Violet Berlin for their
own independent television production company,
WhizzBang
TV.
GamePad 4, the hit series about
video game culture, is unusual for a number of reasons, not least because
it's aimed at intelligent adults, rather than kids. With the fourth series,
though, it has distinguished itself further by including comedy features
written and performed by some of Britain's best loved comic actors, such
as Matt "Little Britain" Lucas, and "Dead Ringers" impressionist Phil Cornwell.

"I enjoy being behind the camera
as much as being in front of it, especially when the people in front of it
are my personal comedy heroes" commented Gareth, "Actually, I found it surprisingly
easy to call the shots, as these guys are so naturally
funny that if you give them a direction to go in, or a tiny bit of material,
they'll take take hold of it and turn it into something
brilliantly
funny. The hardest thing is stopping myself from laughing out loud, as
that would ruin the take."
Gareth remained strictly behind
the cameras for this series, except for an interview about the show's sparkling
new CG title sequence. Or you can listen out for his performance as a variety
of robot voices, or his guitar playing used in the spoof virtual weather
forecast with a very game Sian Lloyd.
You can currently catch the repeats
of GamePad 4 daily on Bravo. It's usually aired in the early evening.
