At the end of 2003, Gareth got together
with old pal, ex F1 racing driverJohnny Herbert, to raise money for the National
Kidney Research Fund.
of professional drivers. Amongst the competition was F1 test driver
Anthony Davidson, who told Gareth that they'd met before -- long ago, when
he just 9 years old and racing karts even then, he'd met Gareth when he appeared
on Saturday morning ITV.

Today Davidson is now the 3rd driver for the BAR-Honda F1 team and was there
helping raise cash for charity.
At the end of the event, Gareth hosted an auction, raising £25,000 -- a
big leap on last year's £17,000, which made him feel a bit better about
his team making the podium in the actual race.
A report on the event was shown in GP World on Motors TV. Another event is expected
to be held next year, and Gareth hopes to be there, for the seventh year
running.
