Action at Awards
Gareth Jones was invited to be the guest of Honour at his old primary school
in North Wales recently.
Ysgol Gwenffrwd in Holywell, Flintshire was celebrating its 50th birthday
and requested that Gareth joined them for the big event.
Gareth spent all morning with the kids and spoke to the entire school (240 people) in the main hall. Gareth
entertained for an hour-and-a-half, but was also entertained himself by the school
when they sang a number of songs for him in the Welsh language.
It was an emotional day and Gareth clearly felt a deep connection with the school
when he realised that some of the pupils were the children of some of his best
friends when he was a child in Holywell. The school produced several school photos
of Gareth from his time there... thirty years ago!
